So I blew the sh*t out of the plug until it was dry and POOF! Started like a charm.Įverything is groovy so far, I still have to drive it around a bit before the etest/smog test, but I think it's going to pass no prob. I had split some antifreeze earlier when I pulled the little line off over the PCV line and it apparently got all over the plug.
And I noticed some antifreeze blow from the plug just above where I replace the hose. Finally out of frustration I blew all over the engine as a F**k you engine. So I got the compressor out and blew my air filter (looked clean). I didn't know wtf was going on as it didn't start like that before. No more idle issues, No more high revs when I put the clutch in.īUT when I first start it, the rpm would osilate from 500 to 1500. Pulled the old hose off, through the new one on. Went to my local parts store and bought one foot of 5/8 (inner dia) hose for less than $3.00, and one of the those spring style hose bender things that slip over the hose and hold it in a 90 degree (or whatever shape you want). After running and shut off and sits for about 5 mins, when you try to start it, motor cranks over but will not start. Recently, I got the P0174 and P1151 code. I popped the hood, lifted the rad hose and stuck my finger in the hole in the vacuum line leading to the PCV. I have been having P0153 (o2 sensor) codes but have not replaced the sensor as of yet. Located under the rad hose, next to the oil fill on the front passenger side of the engine. I googled around and the most likely single fault is the PCV line at the elbow. P1151 - can't remember, something similar to 1131. P1131 - bank 1 sensor 1 pre-catalytic O2 sensor crap P0136 - bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor low voltage
P0135 - bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor heater circuit crap So I plugged in obd meter and the fuse worked. Apparently that fuse is also the left cigar lighter socket.įYI socket #16 on the obd plug is the 12V power pin if you want to hot wire the meter. I assumed it is sufficient to run the obd meter. It was a 20A, but all I have is 7.5A so I just used that.
#Ford engine codes p0174 driver#
So I pulled the fuses (between the driver door and dash) and fuse #17 was blown. The MAF sensor can also be contaminated by fuel vapors that back up through the intake manifold and throttle body when the engine is shut off. Ok I have to have an etest/smog test and my engine light was on so I stuck my obd reader in the socket under the dash and it was blank, dead, no reading. What causes P0171 and P0174 codes ford COMMON CAUSE: A DIRTY MAF SENSOR One of the most common causes of Ford P0171 and P0174 lean codes is a dirty mass airflow (MAF) sensor. Under the rad hose, just behind the oil fill. replace the PCV hose elbow in the front passenger side of the engine. Executive summary: With all the codes I had 1 simple fix.
